Alison Maslin-Maratos, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

Clinical Therapist, Registered Social Worker

Alison Maslin-Maratos, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW is a clinical therapist who provides psychotherapy and therapeutic coaching.  She specializes in working with individuals who are seeking clarity and guidance in mastering issues concerning relationships, living with meaning and achieving success in all areas of life.  Alison enjoys providing therapeutic coaching to encourage her clients to manage such challenges as anxiety and self-doubt, motivation and finding purpose.  She provides support both in-person in her private office, or over the phone or via her secure, online video counselling platform.

Prior to entering private practice, Alison provided counselling services with various populations, including community corrections, women’s services, children’s mental health and family support.  Throughout her years as a clinician, Alison has developed specialized assessment and treatment skills.  She is passionate about providing therapeutic support that meets the needs of each individual she works with, using skills and techniques that fit individual learning and communication styles. 

In addition to her clinical work, Alison has been a professor and guest lecturer for post-secondary students in the fields of social work and psychology.  She has taught a variety of courses in counselling and professional practice and she enjoys lecturing and sharing her vast professional experiences.  

Alison is passionate about providing corporate training and facilitating workshops, encompassing various topics such as self-care, managing life changes, mental health, relationships, parenting, communication skills and compassion fatigue.  Alison believes that sharing information and experiences in a group setting can be comforting and empowering and can create powerful connections and promote personal and professional growth.

Alison has been a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers since 1995.  In addition, she is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

Alison has been married to her husband Fred for 20 years, and is the mother of three boys.  She readily embraces her role as a busy mother who enjoys spending time at her son’s various activities, pursuing her own personal fitness and her love of music.


Rebekah Laferriere, BA (Hons), MSW, RSW

Rebekah Laferriere, BA (Hons), MSW, RSW is a clinical social worker who provides counselling and psychotherapy.  She has a passion for working with individuals seeking support for a variety of issues, from everyday stressors and difficult life events to specific trauma, addictions, and general mental health and wellness.

For nearly a decade, Rebekah has been working in the helping field locally with a variety of agencies, supporting hundreds of clients in individual and group therapy.  She believes the most effective work is done when a client determines their goals and is supported through the process by a professional.

Rebekah uses various modalities to support her clients. Her treatment plans are created with the client. Rebekah uses her skills and clinical experience to help build on existing strengths, supports and to introduce effective strategies to benefit the client’s daily life.

Rebekah has been a professor at Mohawk College since 2017.  This position enables her to stay up to date on the latest treatment modalities through developing curriculum and teaching in the Concurrent Disorders and Social Service Worker Programs.  She has also developed modules and presentations for the College and other community agencies on skills development, anxiety, trauma, borderline personality disorder and many other mental health topics.

A member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers, Rebekah is committed to professionalism.  She has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Windsor, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Guelph, as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate from Mohawk College in Concurrent Disorders. In addition to her degrees, Rebekah has completed post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy as well as motivational interviewing and other treatment modalities.

Rebekah is married and is a busy young mother, with two beautiful children and resides in nearby Paris, Ontario.  She may be the world’s most impatient gardener, but loves planting and tending to her garden.  She enjoys yoga as well as attending rugby and music live events.


Christin Spieran, BA, SSW

Christin is a graduate of Psychology and Social Service Work. She has worked with diverse populations and has spent her recent years working in child welfare. Christin is passionate about working with children and families and assisting others in exploring their potential to become their best selves.

Christin’s current role as a Therapy Assistant involves providing support in lectures and groups, and administrative duties.  Her prior experiences include assisting in managing children’s learning programs and supervising a daycare.  Christin is a mother of two and passionate about learning. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with a focus on mental health and family counselling.
